The exhibition Maintenance is part of the research project PRACTICABLE - The Work of Art as Dispositif. Setting the Stage for Audience Participation (ANR-08-CREA-063, 2009-2011) supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and coordinated by the Maison européenne des sciences de l'homme et de la société (MESHS) in Lille on behalf of the Universités de Valenciennes and Lille (Calhiste, Ceac, Geriico Laboratories).
The exhibition Maintenance is being produced by the European School of Visual Arts Poitiers & Angouléme with the backing of the ANR, the MESHS, the Université de Valenciennes, Mikros Image, Christie Digital, the TAP, the CiTu (Paris 1 and Paris 8 Universities) and larevue.fr

De la création de ces étonnants objets numériques apparus il y a seulement quelques décennies (sites web, objets communicants, interfaces, modèles 3D, jeux vidéo, etc.) jusqu’à l’emploi d’outils logiciels pour concevoir et réaliser des biens matériels, l’expression « design numérique » tant à se généraliser dans bien des propos qui essayent de qualifier ces mutations et nouveaux champs d’action.
Cette journée d’étude a pour ambition de clarifier tant les évolutions récentes de l’activité de design par elle-même, que les modes de production actuels des nouveaux biens interactifs et informationnels.
