All Together is an interactive installation. Several images (between twenty and forty) on a screen show the same stretch of road from the same perspective. The only difference between each image are the characters, protesters in fact: some show a solitary protester, others a handful. Whether alone or in small groups, walking or motorized, they all advance in the same direction. Thus isolated, some protesters carry posters, others banners or flags, others pass by in cars outfitted for the occasion.
Computer mice (at least five), placed on a long stand facing the images, invite viewers to interact. Selecting an image and its protester(s) with the cursor and clicking on it prompts the protester(s) to advance a few meters along the road; image after image and protester(s) after protester(s), the characters pass by, more or less numerous, more or less in synch. While the modalities of the interaction are elementary, the movements of the single cursor on the screen actually depend on the movements of all the activated computer mice, as well as on the average direction and speed, in real time, of their different movements: all spectators control this one and only cursor. The activity in front of the screen also requires collective organization.
